Back-to-school season is in full swing apparently, Maddox is only in preschool but we woke up today and it was 11°C and I realized he like has no socks and also needs pants… and long sleeves…. and I’m also looking for a Spiderman costume apparently.

Another good one for secondhand maternity is Baby & Me, who if you’re local to YYC have two locations you can shop in person! They also have all the good stuff in terms of goodies, especially if you need a gift – SoLuxury, Kyte sleep sacks, Jellycats.

If I’m eyeing a pricier piece I usually will check Poshmark first. It’s also great for kids clothes, and selling pieces you’re done with! They make it super easy with shipping and send you the label when items sell.

My favourite consignment store probably ever is The Clothing Bar YYC in Marda Loop, Calgary. Not maternity but they have the best finds always!
Once Upon A Child
This one is a bit tricky because honestly, all the stores are a nightmare to shop in. They’re SO FULL, and with a lot of total crap, but it can be a great stop for daycare clothes and some basics – especially for those early days where there is a lot less wear.
I do find I can get some nicer sweaters / jackets here – think the adorable Gap jean jackets etc. You do have to sift because there is a lot of just cheap Carters (which shrinks terribly so I avoid IMO), Joe Fresh kind of pieces.
They also sell gear though so if you need a cheap umbrella stroller, nursing cover, baby carriers etc I usually find they’re pretty well stocked! Also a great spot for Hallowe’en costumes!
