I’ve spent the last year throwing things at the wall—new offers, website changes, marketing tweaks. If your business ever feels like a never-ending cycle of testing and adjusting, you’re not alone.
But at some point, you have to stop and ask: Is this actually working?
That’s where I’m at right now.
I’ve spent the last year doing.
You know, the whole ‘just make it, you can make it good later’ thing? I tell this to my clients a lot, you can’t make it good until you actually make it… but in all honesty I probably flew a little too close to the sun on that tactic LOL
When I tell you that I was in my website like every other day… it was getting ridiculous. I was just changing shit, coming up with new offers, testing, tweaking, pivoting, learning… And while that gave me a lot of insight into what works and what doesn’t I can then take to my clients (that’s also on the list of excuses I tell myself), it felt like a year of action with no strategy.
SO, I’ve been feeling a little stuck—not in a bad way, but in a way that feels like reflection rather than action. And I mean, honestly? That’s okay. Now I’m just stepping into my ‘make it good’ era—where I can refine, focus, and get clear on exactly what I want to be known for.
This is the exact question I ask my clients when we do brand strategy. So, naturally, I should ask it to myself.
For years, I’ve been the go-to person for resources, referrals, and direction—a borderline business border collie, herding people toward the best next step for them.
My friend Sarah (YYC brand photographer extraordinare) said this about me years ago, and another client mentioned the same thing just a few weeks ago, so clearly it’s a universal notion.
And I love that role.
I love to help people DEVELOP their business. I love to hash out their offers, or if it’s someone that’s just thinking about starting a new business—hashing out what that looks like, and what their next steps should be. Sometimes we’re looking at their marketing and audience… who they are attracting, who they WANT to be attracting, and are those the lining up? What can we switch up or what tweaks can we make that will get them in front of the right people? Where’s the best place to focus their time, energy and budget? Social media? Influencer campaigns? Email marketing? Branding?
There are so many different things that I have a really weird, broad knowledge of (thanks ADHD), so I struggle on the what do I want to be known for because really I just want to be known for like, being your business bestie.
But from a marketing standpoint, that gets tricky.
Being multi-passionate can sometimes just look like being a generalist, and that sneaky little imposter syndrome voice starts creeping in: Do I actually know anything? Am I really an expert in anything?
Here’s the thing: I know enough to get you to the ✨next stage✨. And that’s the piece I’ve been sitting with this year. Growth doesn’t happen all at once—it’s a series of small, intentional steps. You don’t wake up one day with a fully formed, thriving business. You figure out the next step, then the next, and that’s how you build momentum. I’m not trying to make you a Fortune 500 company (unless that’s your thing, in which case—go off 💅). My job is helping small businesses get clear on their branding, messaging, and online presence—whether that’s getting a logo they love, making their business look more professional, or figuring out how to attract the right clients instead of feeling stuck or like they’re constantly chasing down the next dollar.
The best way I can describe what I do? It’s like having a financial advisor—but for your business. Last year, I reached out to my friend Sam at Worthy of Wealth because I needed halp.
I literally just sent her a voice note like ‘this is what’s going on, I have this debt, this goal, this is what’s happening, I have executive dysfunction, tell me what to do’ LOL.
And that’s exactly what she did—she brought clarity, strategy, a clear path forward with no judgment or stress. She took away the shame and anxiety I felt of not knowing things, and gave me solutions and ✨OPTIONS✨ to close the gap between where we are and where we want to be.
That’s exactly what I do for businesses. You dump all your ideas, stress, and overwhelm on me, and I help you sort through it.
I do this most commonly through Brainstorm Sessions, which I’ve tried renaming a dozen times, but honestly? The name fits. I’ve tried to make it more fancy, like Strategy Sessions or Plotting Calls to help show the value, but it takes away from the approachability of the low-pressure, open-ended conversation where we figure out what’s working, what’s not, and what needs to change.
Some people come in because they hate their DIY logo and want a real brand, some are tired of feeling unprofessional and want a polished look, and some just need a clearer plan for where to put their energy. Every business is different, and I help you figure out what your best next step looks like.
I recently had a friend message me that in sending a referral, their friend asked if I was ‘human and got it’ – motherhood, chaos, trying to do the business thing… Her response?
And I think that’s a huge takeaway of working with me, too. I’m not a coach that’s going to be like ‘you need to do this exact thing because I’ve done it before and it works’, because the same solution DOESN’T work for everyone.
And thanks to my ADHD, I consume a lot of solutions (at 2x speed), and have spent my whole life adapting and finding alternative solutions that fit my brain. Problem solving is my jam.
So, what does working with me actually look like? Here’s how it usually plays out:
Sometimes the session is all you need for now to hash out some things on your own, OR sometimes you want my more specific expertise to get you to that next stage:
You don’t have to figure this all out alone (I’d say it’s impossible, really). If you need someone to sort through the chaos and help you take your next step with clarity and confidence, let’s talk.
DM me or book a Brainstorm Session, and let’s get you unstuck.
