I'm a neurospicy mom of two, chronic oversharer, creative polymath and problem solver. My superpower is looking at your biz holistically, spotting the gaps, and helping you fill them.
I constantly hear ‘things no one tells you about’ in regards to life postpartum, so here’s me telling you all the things that have helped make my life easier.
knix
First off, I’m an affiliate (MILLSONANDMAIN_KNIXLOVE), however I did not have knix after Maddox, so can confirm they are a game changer. Post-partum bleeding made me absolutely mental with Maddox. It wasn’t even the bleeding, I don’t care about that so much, but having to wear a pad drove me WILD. At some point I started wearing his cloth diaper inserts because I couldn’t take it anymore.
BlissFitTM Leakproof Nursing Bra Full disclosure I THINK mine are a different material than these ones as mine is older, but this one looks even comfier. I normally hate bras but the support in these is comfortable, and not leaking through my shirts is always a plus…
CoreLove High Rise Okay I bought these in my regular size (medium) and was like omg these are not going over my thighs… but I squeezed myself into them and all was well. That said, I didn’t try to put them on until almost 4 weeks postpartum, if I hadn’t had a c-section I could probably go earlier but that depends on your comfort level / healing process. These ones also have a longer gusset area specifically for postpartum.
My discount code for knix is MILLSONANDMAIN_KNIXLOVE. Check this page for the most recent, incase it gets updated.
Tops I’ve loved…
The Oversized T-Shirt If you can get your hands on this or something like this, the stretch and neckline is perfect for nursing.
Cropped Hoodies or Crews I feel like this seems counter-intuitive to what you want postpartum, but if you’re nursing it’s easy. Less fabric to move up, and if you wear high-waisted leggings you’re more or less covered in public too.
Aerie Lumberjane Shirt I’m conflicted on this recommendation because I do think the price point is stupid. That said, I have worn these probably every other day since I got them… They’re heavier weight which I love, but I don’t overheat, and obviously buttons.
Bottoms I’ve loved…
ROWE Joggers Of course, I live in these… I like the men’s small for a fitted look, but also have mediums. ROWE sizing is always super versatile depending on the fit you’re looking for.
Blanqi Highwaist Postpartum + Nursing Support Leggings I discovered these with Maddox and have worn them throughout both pregnancies and postpartum. At 4 weeks pp I’m just getting them on comfortably now, they have slight compression – just enough to help you feel supported.
Earth Mama Nipple Butter If you don’t need the prescription APNO for pain relief, thrush, etc., and are just looking for some moisture and soothing this stuff is fantastic. WILL STAIN YOUR SHIT THOUGH.
Milkin’ More I can’t stop eating these, specifically their Boobie Brownie Bites. They’re a perfect snack because I’m starving at all times, but they’re also full of galactagogoues like oats, flax seed or bbrewer’s yeast for milk production. They have premade and mix options, oatmeals and drink mixes.
HydroJug 64oz or 1.89L, the glass jugs are my favourite.
YETI Rambler I keep one my by bed and one in my car (in the summer sometimes I’d keep those giant jugs of water in my trunk to refill lol…)
